About Tribeca Knowledge
Tribeca Knowledge deliver pioneering launch readiness software that helps pharmaceutical and biotech companies introduce new products to the global marketplace both faster and more efficiently.
Challenge
Tribeca Knowledge maintained all AWS workloads and customer resources in one AWS account. The client wanted to improve scalability, resilience, security posture and separation of workloads, while aligning with industry best-practice and building further upon the concepts and recommendations made in the initial Well-Architected Review. The overarching scope of this project was to lay the foundations for Tribeca Knowledge to migrate their workloads into a new, Well-Architected, multi-account structure.
Tribeca Knowledge approached AWS for support and were referred to Ubertas Consulting. The client was looking for a third-party assessment of their AWS environment to see where the solution applied to best practice as part of a Well-Architected Review.
Approach
Ubertas proposed to deploy a foundational, multi-account design, including accounts for:
- Audit
- Networking
- Shared Services
- Log Archive
- Monitoring
The goal was to design and deploy one customer account within the target state architecture, and document this as ‘infrastructure as code’ providing the customer with a template they can use across the existing and future customer accounts.
All standard services have been deployed for the Landing Zone:
- SSO
- CloudTrail
- CloudWatch
- Config
- Guard Duty
- Security Hub
- IAM Access Analyzer
A single customer account was deployed, consisting of several EC2 instances, and an RDS instance. A centralised AWS Backup policy has been set up for backing up customer resources.
Benefits
Tribeca Knowledge is now able to deploy new customer environments quickly and securely using infrastructure as code, and migrate existing resources into those environments.
Having infrastructure as code templates for the customer account enables repeatable, secure and efficient deployment of further customer accounts.
A ‘standard’ Landing Zone deployment enables Tribeca Knowledge to grow its infrastructure in a manageable and secure way, as its customer base grows.
By using infrastructure as code templates, Tribeca Knowledge will be able to deploy new isolated customer environments in minutes, instead of hours – a large increase in efficiency when compared to manual deployment.
Working with Ubertas Consulting, an advanced partner, has added value to the approach by suggesting the most cost effective and simplest to maintain solution to the client.
“By helping us design and deploy our new organisational structure, Ubertas have enabled us to save time launching new customer environments and build upon our security posture across our AWS estate. Through Infrastructure as Code, we can ensure all future deployments apply to our internal configuration standards and best practice.”
