Background to the case study
Curo have a modern approach to managing IT based on a hybrid cloud strategy utilising the AWS Cloud for customers based outside of the UK.
Curo engaged with Ubertas Consulting to perform a review of the AWS deployment in accordance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAF). Ubertas Consulting is an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner and a member of the AWS Well-Architected programme which authorises them to deliver Well-Architected reviews and provide remediation.
The review encompassed all aspects of the live deployment and in a conjunction with the Curo team examined security, performance, and cost efficiency of the AWS environment.
The WAF process identified a range of minor improvements to the Curo environment following which Ubertas Consulting and Curo worked jointly on the remediation.
The Value of being Well-Architected
The AWS Well-Architected Framework provides a consistent approach that allows organisations to ensure that their AWS deployments are as secure, high-performing, resilient and efficient as possible.
As the pace of innovation continues to accelerate regular reviews of cloud workloads become ever more important.
AWS released 1,430 new features last year. It is therefore vital that organisations continuously review their AWS deployments against a standard such as the Well Architected Framework.
“Having Ubertas Consulting support our adoption of AWS is invaluable as demonstrated through the recent WAF review. Making sure that we align with AWS best practice provides Curo with additional reassurance around essential areas such as security and resilience”, says Stewart Kerr, Infrastructure Manager at Curo
